MagieCRM vs Jobber for a 3-person pest control company

For a pest control company with an owner, two techs and about 250 quarterly accounts, Jobber is the better fit for most of the work: it schedules and routes the visits, texts reminders, charges saved cards and has a native app. MagieCRM is better in the office: it tracks door-hanger and phone leads through steps you name and follows up by email. On monthly billing it costs about $120 less than Jobber's Connect plan paid yearly in year one, and about $360 more in year two.

What each one costs for this company

Jobber's cheapest plan, Core, is $49 a month for 1 user and has no reminders, autopay or routing, so the numbers here use Connect's 5-user tier.

MagieCRM Growth$17910 users, 10,000 records, every feature.

Why this company ends up on MagieCRM Growth

In MagieCRM every lead, account and visit is a record, finished visits included. If you keep the visits there, year one brings:

That's 1,510 records before a single new lead. Starter holds 1,000, so if you start in January, the July visits put you on Growth. Jobber prices by user; its help center says even Core has no limit on jobs or invoices.

Two-year cost
What you'd payYear oneYear two
MagieCRM monthly, Starter for 6 months then Growth$1,668$2,148
Jobber Connect, paid yearly$1,788$1,788
Jobber Connect, 1-year commitment$2,028$2,028
Jobber Connect, no commitment$2,388$2,388
Jobber Connect paid yearly, plus Marketing Suite$2,976$2,976

That assumes fewer than about 110 new leads before July. A busier spring moves you to Growth sooner, and if that happens in May or earlier, year one costs more than Jobber Connect paid yearly.

Where Jobber is better

Running the quarterly route

Jobber puts recurring visits on a schedule on every plan and routes the day's stops from Connect up.

On January 1, MagieCRM adds a visit for each of your 250 quarterly accounts, all dated that day, with no time and no tech. Spreading them over 13 weeks and between Luis and Dana is up to you, one visit at a time. A recurring job covers every record in its linked tracker, so commercial accounts and leads need trackers of their own. Every-other-month accounts don't fit, and a cancelled account keeps getting visits until you delete the account.

Texts and phone calls

Jobber texts reminders from Connect up, and its $29 Receptionist add-on answers the phone. MagieCRM sends email only, and the visits it makes don't carry the customer's email, so the reminder has to run off a "Next service date" the office keeps on each account. A customer who doesn't read email won't know to put the dog in.

Getting paid

With Jobber, your customers pay online in its client hub, a tech can take a card at the door with Tap to Pay, and you can invoice a batch of finished visits at once, all on every plan. Connect adds autopay and chases unpaid invoices by email or text. In MagieCRM you make and send each invoice from its visit, about 310 a quarter if you bill per visit, with no autopay and no sales tax calculation.

The techs' phones

MagieCRM runs in the phone's web browser and needs a signal, so a tech in a crawl space can't pull up the account. Jobber's native app comes with every plan.

Where MagieCRM is better

Tracking door-hanger and phone leads

Name the stages after your own steps, like Hanger left, Called in, Inspection booked and Proposal sent, and add fields like the pest and the street the hangers went on. Jobber covers more of the quote itself: on every plan, customers approve its quotes online, which MagieCRM can't do.

Follow-ups you describe in plain English

Jobber Connect sends its own quote and invoice follow-ups, but your own rules take Grow, $299 a month for 5 users with no commitment. In MagieCRM you type the rule as you'd say it: "If a lead sits in Proposal sent for 4 days, email them my proposal follow-up and give me a call task." Magie shows you the rule before it's saved.

An automation typed in plain English, 'when a quote is sent, follow up in 3 days if they haven't replied', with Magie's preview of the rule above a Save Automation button.

Review requests and email campaigns

Give each account a "First service date" and have MagieCRM email your review request, with your Google review link, the day after, so regulars aren't asked every quarter. Email campaigns come with every plan too. Jobber's Marketing Suite, $99 a month, covers both plus referrals and social posting, which MagieCRM doesn't do.

Which one to pick

Pick Jobber if your techs run the quarterly route from their phones and you want text reminders and autopay. With 250 recurring accounts that's most of what this company needs, and Connect covers it for $199 a month, or $149 paid yearly. If price matters most, look at GorillaDesk too, which prices by route: Basic was $49 a month for one route on October 1, 2026.

Pick MagieCRM if the route already runs fine on something else, even paper, and what slips is the office: callbacks, proposals nobody chased, commercial renewals, reviews. With the visits kept elsewhere, Starter at $99 a month holds the 270 accounts with room for about 700 leads.

Nothing links the two. On Jobber Connect or higher, Zapier, a separate service, can copy new Jobber clients into MagieCRM through a webhook, one way only. Without it, you enter each new account in both.

Questions

Can I move my clients from Jobber to MagieCRM?

Yes, if your Jobber plan lets you export clients. Jobber's help center says not every plan does. Upload the file and Magie matches its columns to your fields and points out customers you already have. Nothing is saved until you approve it.

Smart Import's plan for a small sample file of 8 jobs, which Magie read as a Jobber export, mapped to 8 Clients and 8 Jobs, with a suggested new stage.

Does MagieCRM work with QuickBooks?

No, there's no QuickBooks or Xero sync. Invoices and payments live in your Stripe account, and you can export your MagieCRM records to a spreadsheet anytime. Jobber syncs with both from Connect up.

What would MagieCRM cost a pest control company with 250 quarterly accounts?

$179 a month, on Growth, if you keep the visits in MagieCRM: 250 quarterly accounts make 1,000 visits a year, finished visits count toward the limit, and Starter holds 1,000 records. With the visits in another tool, Starter at $99 a month for 3 users is enough. Monthly billing has no contract.

Try it with your own accounts

Jobber's 14-day free trial needs no card. MagieCRM's needs a card but charges nothing until day 15, and nothing at all if you cancel first.
